Who will be the 2023 sires?
The official stallion approval of the SBS Studbook, better known as the International Selection Show, will take place on February 24, 25 and 26 in Gesves (Namur). After two editions without audience due to the sanitary conditions, this must-see event for breeders will be back to its best: commercial village, catering, show... The event will be broadcasted live on ClipMyHorse, on www.sbsnet.be and on https://www.facebook.com/StudBooksBs
The stallion’s owners are getting ready to attend the annual SBS Studbook approval and are currently undergoing the required veterinary exams at the University clinics. If the results of such exams are granted a “green light”, then the stallions can join the International Selection Show 2023, from the 24th to the 26th of February at the Provincial Breeding and Horse Riding School of Gesves (Namur). Whether in Dressage or Jumping, these reproduction prospects will be analyzed by an international jury that will decide upon their approval for the 2023 breeding season.
The start-list will be available shortly after the registration closing, on www.sbsnet.be as well as inside the February edition of the bimonthly magazine “Le cheval de sport belge”, sent to all SBS Studbook members. A QR code displayed next to each stallion will allow you to access the full digital comprehensive catalogue, available on the SBS website. We can be optimistic: the candidates, with prestigious pedigrees, will be of very high quality.
The International Selection Show launches his “Best Of”!
For the first time, the SBS organizes a “Best Of” open to all stallion of 4-year-old and older, from all WBFSH members’ studbooks. This show will take place Sunday the 26th of February at 2.30 PM. All the stallions’ owner will thus be able to meet the large public of the International Selection Show, composed of professionals, connoisseurs and enlightened amateurs, Belgian and foreign breeders, who have come to admire and choose the best breeding stallions for the 2023 season.
The “Best Of” will be broadcasted live in HD, as the rest of the event, and will thus benefit from the high frequentation of the SBS website and Facebook pages.
These 4-year-old and older stallions will therefore be enhanced thanks to the exceptional atmosphere of the Selection Show. Their presentation, under the saddle or in-hand (to be decided), will be punctuated with professional comments of an expert and a video compiling the stallion’s competition milestones will be projected.
