From St. Tropez to New York
Here we go again!
Last week-end was again paced by the double victory of the pair GOTHAM CITY PL (R.O.+) (Filou de Muze/Final Shot – breeders: P. & Th. Lejeune in B-8690 Alergem) – Ömer Karaevli (TUR) at the CSIYH1* of Opglabbeek (BEL). They first won the 7-year-old 1.30m event and reiterated their exploit few days later over 1.35m. Two other SBS horses also ranked themselves during this 1.35m event: GEORGE (Kannan/Chin Chin – breeder : Stables Stephex in B-1861 Meise-Wolvertem) with Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) 10th place and GASTON D’ÉCAUSSINNES (Malito de Rêves/La Coste S – breeder : Écuries d’Écaussinnes in B-7190 Écaussinnes) with Alexander Butler (IRL) 14th place. With regards to the CSI2*, it is CHOPIN D’HYRENCOURT (Udancer Hero/Ogano Sitte – breeder: A. Henry in B-4452 Paifve) who played its cards right by claiming 4th place over 1.35m and 5th place over 1.40m with Gilles Willemann (FRA). On the same height but against the clock this time, BACARAT DE SAINTE HERMELLE (Babylis de Sainte Hermelle/Bayac de Sainte Hermelle – breeder: Élevage de Ste Hermelle in B-6181 Gouy-Lez-Piéton) imposed herself 4th with rider Hicham Er-Radi (MAR). Let’s not forget about the brilliant performance of EL VITORIOSO D’ÉCAUSSINNES (HH Radco/Kashmir van Schuttershof – breeder: Écuries d’Écaussinnes in B-7190 Écaussinnes) and Dayro Arroyave (COL) at the CSI1*, as they won 2nd place of the 1.30m event before claiming the victory of the 1.35m Grand Prix the following day.
Heading to St. Tropez (FRA), where many SBS standed out at both CSI2* and CSI4*. At the CSI2*, FAYERBAL DU RONCHY (Baloubet du Rouet/Bon Ami – breeder: J. Eichenlaub-Georges in B-5361 Mohiville) reached twice top-5 with Guillaume Foutrier (FRA): one 5th place over 1.35m and a 4th place during the 1.45m Grand Prix. CASSIUS VAN DE SMIS (VDL Cardento/Skippy II – breeder: M. Neckebroeck in B-1650 Beersel), ridden by Marcel Marschall (GER) and EVEREST D.R. (Darco – breeder: G. Deroock in B-1780 Wemmel), ridden by Sadri Fegaier (FRA) respectively won 6th and 9th place on this Grand Prix as well. At the CSI4*, CASANOVA DE l’HERSE (Ugano Sitte/Kashmir van Schuttershof – breeder: M. Bar in B-7063 Chaussée-Notre-Dame) and François Mathy JR (BEL) ended up 6th on the 1.45m against the clock event. 3 other SBS horses ranked themselves over the same height with a 10th place for DOLITAIRE CHAVANNAISE (E.O.) (Cicero Z/Voltaire – breeder: Y. Evrard in B-6960 Manhay) with Zoé Conter (BEL), followed by DOLCE DECEUNICK (E.O.) (Toulon/Cartier van de Heffinck – breeder: G. Schoutteet in B-8211 Aartrijke) with Olivier Perreau (FRA) and DIRKA DES BRUMES (E.O.) (Cicero Z/Voltaire – breeder: S. Jeanfils in B-6960 Manhay) with Dominique Hendrickx (BEL) respectively at 13th and 14th place. CLOCHARD (Kashmir van Schuttershof/Cascadeur – breeder: Stables Stephex in B-1861 Meise-Wolvertem) granted himself a 9th place over 1.50m with Belgian rider Emilie Conter, as for DINKY TOY VD KRANENBURG (Ugano Sitte/Kimball – breeder: J. Leterme in B-8980 Zandvoorde) and Mauricio Ruiz (COL), they took 8th place at the 1.50m Grand Prix.
In Hagen, Germany, CALI DES BERGERIES (Baloubet du Rouet/Wandango – breeder: P. Jadot in B-6940 Grandhan) paired with Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) won 2nd place of the CSI2* 1.35m event.
In Ebreichsdorf (AUT), BOYFRIEND DU SEIGNEUR (Calvaro/Darco – breeder: La Ferme du Seigneur in B-7387 Honnelles) and Anastasiia Yershova (UKR) obtained two impressive rankings with a 2nd place over 1.35m and a 3rd place on the 1.40m against the clock event. Nevertheless, he was not the only SBS ambassador to shine in Austria, as ARTISTE DE L’ABBAYE D’AULNE (Conquest van de Helle/Idem d’Azur – breeder: C. Martini in B-6534 Gozée) and rider Karl Shneider (GER) ranked themselves three times at the CSI2*: one 1st place over 1.35m followed by a 3rd and 13th place over 1.40m.
Across the Atlantic, finally, where DM JACQMOTTE (Toulon/Indoctro – breeder: E. Bongaerts in B-3583 Paal) and Wilm Vermeir (BEL) standed out at New York’s CSI5* thanks to their great 5th place over 1.55m and 15th place during the 1.60m Grand Prix.
