A victory in the GCT Grand Prix and another in the Nations Cup, what else?

There are weekends like this where the stars appear to line up and the talents team up to shine in the equestrian sport’s firmament!

Last weekend was one of these. The performances of the SBS representatives were numerous, brilliant, even breathtaking.

At the CSIO5* GCT in Stockholm (SWE), the Olympic vice-champion, European champion and exceptional international winner H&M ALL-IN (Kashmir van Schuttershof/Andiamo - breeder: Bas Huybregts in NL-4891 PV Rijsbergen) and his Swedish rider Peder Fredricson were on all fronts, first by placing in the main events of the competition and then by winning the GCT Grand Prix on 1.60m. During the same competition, we also noted a victory on 1.45m for VALENTINE DU BOIS PINCHET (E.O.)  (Arpad des Six Censes/Renville Ruud vh Woutland - breeder: Élevage du Bois Pinchet in B-5600 Surice) under the saddle of Sofie Slattery, a 2nd place over 1.55m for TIC-TAC DU SEIGNEUR (Clinton/Darco - breeder: La Ferme du Seigneur in B-7387 Honnelles) associated with Ben Maher (GBR), as well as a 2nd place on 1.50/55m and a 4th place on 1.55/60m for the SBS approved stallion GARFIELD DE TIJI DES TEMPLIERS (Quasimodo Z/Goldspring de Lauzelle) ridden by Jérôme Guéry (BEL).

This leads us to look in more detail at the performances of the SBS approved stallions that were also well represented in the rankings this weekend such as CASHPAID J&F (Casall/Chicago Z) associated with Nathan Budd (BEL) and FLINTON(Clinton/Heartbreaker), stallion approved by the SBS in Italy and ridden by the Italian rider Emilio Bicocchi. They both engaged in a pleasant crossover at the CSI2* in St-Tropez-Cogolin which turned to the advantage of the first mentioned, who placed 2nd in the first Grand Prix of his career ahead of FLINTON.

And it is with a son of TOULON (Heartbreaker/Jokinal de Bornival), another stallion approved by the SBS, that we will finish this weekend review. DELUX VAN T&L (Toulon/Landetto - breeder: L. Tilleman & L. Van de Vijver in B-9180 Moerbeke-Waas) and Niels Bruynseels made a major contribution to the Belgian team's victory in the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Sopot (POL). This is another victory for the couple, who started 2019 on a high note by winning the CSI5*-W Grand Prix in Basel (SUI) and have since then been on a winning path in both the CSI5* GCT and the World Cup, where they competed brilliantly during this year’s final. At only 10 years old, DELUX VAN T&L already imposes itself as the future star of the SBS. (CA)
